Cutting ties and moving forward…

The shamanic technique of cord cutting is an interactive healing method that allows clients to feel mentally, emotionally and physically free from old issues that have been holding them back. On this one day intensive workshop students will learn this powerful technique for healing others. We will also explore a self treatment technique, and in the partner work all students will have the opportunity to cut their own cords.  As our work has progressed we have learned that cord cutting is part of a much larger process – web weaving.  Some traditions see all of creation as a great web and we will be working together to explore the way in which we can change our own ‘soul webs’ through direct interaction with them.  This means that we get the opportunity to draw new positive energies into our lives, as well as removing those which are no longer helpful to us.  This is a day of healing as much as it is a day of learning.

Web weaving and cord cutting are hugely important aspects of shamanic practice; through working with our soul webs and those of our clients we are able to work with the underlying energies that make us who we are and dictate what manifests in our lives. We have created this course under the guidance of the Norns (the weavers of wyrd from Norse mythology who are akin to the three fates) and the power animal Spider, who is of course the great web weaver. This course offers a profound introduction to the energies of these beings and gives time for deep shamanic journeys to gain powerful insight into our role as creators of our own perfect health, happiness and success. You have to cut the cords in order to build the strongest web, and we will show you how to do both.

This is a Level 3 course (see our full course programme) and is an option on our Way of the Weaver shamanic practitioner programme. It is also available as a stand alone workshop for healers wishing to develop their skills in this area.

You will receive printed handouts and recorded audio materials to assist you as you develop the skills you learn on the day. Follow up support is provided by Kay and Magin as part of our commitment to assisting you as you walk your shamanic path.

Throughout the day we allow for flexibility to suit the needs of the group, offering guidance on the shamanic journeys, any questions on helping others with this method and how to incorporate the principles of the work into personal practice. We make as much time as possible for sharing and discussion, and offer support after the course.

The course runs from 1030am to 6pm. There will be a lunch break and tea break – refreshments will be provided, please bring your own lunch or visit one of the great eateries nearby.
