Most psychics will develop a preference, or even a strong bond, with particular divinatory tools; preferring to work with their own trusty pendulum or well-thumbed tarot pack rather than any other. This is particularly true for the rune practitioner and, at some point, every serious runester will want to make their own set.

Workshop outline

The rune making workshop is very practical and we work 1-2-1 or in a small group. You will:

• Learn practical and energy raising techniques for rune making and sigilisation
• Make two rune sets
• Bless and empower one of your rune sets (you can use the techniques to bless and empower your second set later)

The day is a journey to find the spirit of the runes, bring them into being, and empower them so you can use them for rune casting and spell work. We will be making runes in clay and wood so that you can learn all the techniques you need to make your own set.

During the first part of the day we will make a rune set out of clay. We will learn the basic techniques and explore the myths and legends associated with the runes which inform the way we make runes today. We will then move on to making our wooden runes using pyrography (I will send you the wood in advance to prepare before the day of the workshop). We will complete the day with a ceremony to bless and empower your wooden runes.

The day is for you if one or more of the following applies:

• you have just started working with the runes and want to develop your relationship with them further
• you don’t really think of yourself as ‘crafty’ and would like some support with the practical side of things
• you would like to work with the runes in a group setting and deepen your relationship with them

Tea and coffee are provided but please do bring your own lunch.

The next date is Saturday 15th December 2012. I am also very happy to run the day as a one-to-one session so if you would like to book on a different day please get in touch and we can set a date together (I will normally then advertise the day in case others are interested).

The course runs from 10:30-17:30.

Booking

The course is £90 per person. Places are held with a deposit of £45, the balance being payable on the day. There is a booking form below for the next set date. A small fee is payable if you use the electronic booking form; you can also contact magin@starfirealchemy.co.uk to arrange an alternative method of payment. Please note that you will need to book in advance or you won’t have time to prepare your wood for your runes (I send you the pre-cut wood with some sand paper so you can start to put your energy into your runes even before the day).
