In response to some questions about the Intuitive Healer course, Kay has made a video. Hopefully this will give a bit more in depth info on the course, and help those who are considering booking decide if the course is what they are looking for.
If you would like to apply for a place on this course in Reading or in London, get in touch with Kay by email on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07881 622076.
Here is a great review of the ‘Shamanic Power:beginners’ workshop’, which Kay took to The Healing Shed in Reading in July 2011. The workshop will run again in London on Wednesday 16 November, and in other locations around the country in future.
Note: You can see this review in it’s original form on the Evolve website – click the News and Reviews section and scroll down to find it (we have reproduced it here as the link to that page changes when it is updated).
We had a fantastic evening last night for Evolve at the Healing Shed with Kay Gillard’s introduction to Shamanic Power.
There was an air of excitement before this evening from everyone who was attending, and they were not disappointed on the evening.
The shed was filled with the beautiful smell of white sage as Kay talked about Shamanic power, how we loose it or give it away in our lives, and how it effects our health and healing.
The group were given ways to regain their power and shown how to journey and find out where they had lost their power, and also who they may of taken power from as well.
We were then lead into a powerful drum journey of our own to meet a power animal that we would each work with for our own power..and everyone in the group had a different animal including a raccoon, Phoenix, eagle, bear, tiger and hedgehog.
To end the evening one person was chosen at random to take part in a very powerful Shamanic power retrieval healing ritual.
During this ritual the person chosen lay down while the group drummed and rattled a beat, flooding the space with energy.
Kay journeyed next to the person and retrieved the lost power with the aid of a power animal, bringing back a beautiful message of strength, beauty and healing which moved the whole group.
The group were blown away by the healing experience, and the energy in the shed was buzzing and the person who was chosen felt calmer, lighter and in less pain.
A huge thank you to Kay for coming all the way from London to share her energy and knowledge and we look forward to having her return in November for her Intuitive Healer course.
If you’d like to book a space on the London workshop in November, or would like Kay to bring this workshop to your hometown, please email email@example.com or call 07881 622076.
There are a couple of free places on the upcoming colour healing course, so we thought we’d take a moment to explain why this is not your average colour healing course! We are shamanic practitioners, and all of our Way of the Weaver programme courses are created in a particular attitude. We are not so much teaching methods as giving people the grounding, tools and confidence to find their own unique way of working, with creativity and intuition. So, whereas many colour healing courses will teach you what red means, what blue means, how to work through the chakras with colour etc (and those are great things to know) we have taken a very different approach. We do talk about meanings given to particular colours, but it is such a tiny part of the day. You know us. When we’ve got a group of people together, we prefer to go on an adventure!
The colour healing course is more of a journey into colour. Shamanic journeying is, as ever, high on the agenda and students journey to communicate with guides and learn the innate nature of a particular colour. It is the beginnings of setting up a personal reference on what colours mean for you as an individual healer, and how you can work with it to create change. We also work with the less common colours. Move away from the standard rainbow: what about grey? Beige? Glittering bronze? Oh, and there’s some drumming and sound healing thrown in, because we love it and we know you do too!
If you have some healing and/or journeying experience we would love to have you on this course. It will be a personal healing experience for everyone who attends. Find full course information here.
Kay has been working on manifesting more goodness in her life – out with some limiting beliefs that have reared their ugly heads of late. So she’s working with the shamanic practice of dreaming the world into being – and she’s inviting all of us to take part.
To find out what it is to ‘dream a new dream’ and to take up the challenge for the improvement of your world, and the world at large, watch the video below where Kay explains all:
We are now taking bookings for our Summer Solstice conference: Manifesting the Healing Path on Saturday 18th June in Greenwich, London. The conference is open to healers at any point upon the path, whether you are just starting out or have years of experience. We have an exciting programme including guest speaker Bhavna Mistry from Life Healing Values, journeying to locate and embody your power as a healer, and a shamanic group rite at the end of the sessions.
The conference is an opportunity for networking and we would encourage participants to bring along leaflets and fliers about their own practice.
The Psychic Development Circle will be meeting at 7pm on Wednesday to explore the art of psychometry.
Psychometry relies on the principle that objects take on the energy of people and places – meaning that we can pick up on these residual energies to gain information. We can also use these techniques to work with representational objects: figures of deities, power animals and other objects which have a special connection with spirit. At this month’s circle
please bring along your representational objects and objects of power – we will be using psychometry to receive information about these objects for each other. Whether you have a favourite devotional picture, a statue
bought on a whim that you know is important but you don’t know why, or an object which speaks to you of the sacred, bring them along!
Location: SE18, South East London- full details forwarded when you let us know that you plan to attend (email firstname.lastname@example.org )
Cost: £10 per person
Last month’s circle… Skrying
Last month we skryed for ourselves and for each other, gathering information to help us on our individual paths. We worked with water, fire and the crystal ball, producing some immensely interesting results!
For the Reiki lovers among you, remember that this month’s Reiki share will not be on the 3rd Friday of the month as usual. Instead, it’s on Thursday 14 April – that’s tomorrow!
Most of the regulars have already been told, but you don’t need to be a regular at these things to come along and benefit from them. All Reiki people are welcome, from any lineage, and we just ask for £3 contributions to help with costs. They take place in Crystal Palace – please get in touch with Kay if you would like to come: email@example.com or 07881 622076 (Kay’s working tomorrow so texts are best!)
Hope to see you there x
In February Magin led an evening discussing devotional practice followed by a devotional to the Greek Goddess of the Hearth Fire, Hestia. Magin has recorded the song she wrote as part of the devotional for you, you can also visit her blog for a write up of the devotional.
As part of the launch of Katie Gerrard’s latest book Seidr: The Gate is Open, Magin has written about some of her own experiences of working with the Norns and the God of vengeance Vali – not sure if the God of vengeance is the most appropriate of deities for a healer to work with, read the article and see…
Some of our Shamanic Circle may recognise the thread in the picture to the right as the offering we gave to the Norns – we hope your Wyrd is working well for you!
We’re busying away as ever here at StarFire Alchemy – Magin has a new Rune casting course, Kay has a very Reiki heavy month happening and of course the regular shamanic, psychic and reiki circles and shares are ongoing. Check out our full events page for the full story.
Once again, we’ve put together a video offering for you this month. Magin talks you through some of the exciting things going on that you can get involved in, and the importance of starting new projects and honouring your creative spark at this time of year, Imbolc. There is also a video giving you the ‘english’ spelling, as it were, of the Reiki precepts in Japanese, some of the accepted translations, and pronunciation. Kay really recommends chanting these precepts in Japanese as part of your Reiki meditation practice, as it brings us in line with the real teachings of Usui – spiritual in nature. If you like this, you can read more about the Reiki precepts on one of Kay’s old blog posts here, and keep your eyes open for a slightly longer video on this that’s coming later this month.
We really hope to see you at some of our events this month. For more information on the Reiki courses coming up, get in touch with Kay on firstname.lastname@example.org and for the runes it’s email@example.com. You can also reach both of us on firstname.lastname@example.org - please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to attend any of our circles.
